Little Cheesman Park, between 7th & 8th Avenues
Saturday, July 2, 9–10 a.m.
Bring your downward facing dog for morning movement and mindful mingling with Habitual Roots Yoga. You don’t have to bend yourself into a pretzel to join—all levels are welcome! The class is free, but accepting donations for Habitual Roots, a nonprofit that connects communities by spreading knowledge of emotional intelligence and mindfulness. The class is weather permitting, so sniff out their website if things look sketchy.
2. Summer Concert Series
Bruz (Off Fax) and Bruz Beers, Denver
Saturday, July 2, 4–10 p.m. (Bruz Beers Midtown); 6–8 p.m. (Bruz Off Fax)
This Saturday, both Bruz Beers locations are hosting FREE live music. Bruz Beers in Midtown will be hosting a hoppin’ pawty featuring food trucks, a family-friendly dance party at 4:30, and live music (band TBD) from 6 to 10 p.m.
Meanwhile, Bruz Off Fax, will be hosting local bluegrass musician Scottie Bolin of Morsel from 6–8 p.m. Bonus points: It’s just a buck for a 4-oz pour with purchase of a full draft.
Mountain Cowboy Brewing Co., Frederick
Sunday, July 3, 10 a.m.; registration required
Wanna escape the hustle and bustle of the city and let pup channel his inner cowboy? Head to Mountain Cowboy Brewing Co. in Frederick for a Colorado Brewery Running Series 5K. Registration is $35 ($53 if you want a T-shirt), and includes a free craft brew at the finish line, your choice of swag or collector’s pint glass, and entry for door prizes. 10% of proceeds go directly to a local nonprofit.
Highlands Ranch Parkway
Monday, July 4, 8:30–10:30 a.m.
Is there any better way to celebrate than strutting your proud pooch and kiddos from Hepburn to the Town Center South in Highlands Ranch? We think not! The 4th of July event is free and registration is not required. Show up to 9285 Hepburn Street in your most patriotic garb at 8:30 a.m. to walk in the parade. More of a spectator? Line up along the parade route at 8:45 a.m. to enjoy the show.
