North Ave. Beach, Chicago
Saturday-Sunday, August 20–21, 10 a.m.–2p.m.
The idea of flying with a dog can be scary—but watching the Chicago Air and Water Show is just plane fun! This free event packs a crowd so pupare to get there early. You can watch while walking the lakeside, grab a spot on the beach, or even head up to Montrose Beach for a less noisy view.
Northcenter, Chicago
Friday, August 19, 5–10 p.m., Saturday–Sunday, August 20–21, 12–10 p.m.
We’re pawsitively drooling! Floof says you better plan one of your weekend meals to be at Ribfest. This fan-favorite event has everypup’s nose going wild for the delicious smells of BBQ with over 20 different vendors to sniff out and sample. Pawrents beware: keep an eye out for animal bones on the ground. Admission is a $10 suggested donation for individuals, or $20 for families.
Montrose Dog Beach, Chicago
Saturday, August 20, 3–4 p.m.
The Northwestern University Postdoctoral Association is hosting a party at Montrose Dog Beach this weekend! Dogtorates not required. Let your dog roam, network, and meet new furiends. This party is free but you can RSVP here.
The Loop, Chicago
Sunday, August 21, 11 a.m.–6 p.m.
Get ready for some tail-waggin’ fun! You haven’t missed your chance to attend Sundays on State, but with only two dates left this year you better point your paws there this weekend. Sit and stay for art, culture, active recreation, food, drinks, shopping, and local attractions. Did we mention food? There’s gonna be LOTS of food.
