Sure we’ve got breweries, restaurants, indoor dog parks, and even malls to visit. But if your dog is bonesing for more spots to chill and snoots to boop, pro-puppo hotel bars are new ‘n exciting territory, no overnight stay required! Here are four dog-friendly Minneapolis hotel bars we’ve dug up for pup’s pleasure.
1. W XYZ Bar and Lobby in Aloft Hotel
Grab a dog nom from the lobby treat stand, kick up your paws on a couch by the fireplace, or bring your human to the W XYZ Bar for daily yappy hours from 5-7 p.m., cool drinks, and vibrant decor, including color-changing lights built into the bar top. (Woof to the wise: Call ahead in case this space is rented out.)
Psssst: Need a staycation? There are NO PET FEES here. Two dogs up to 40 lbs are welcome. For larger dogs, just give Aloft Hotel a ring to retrieve advanced approval. And it’s just a 4-minute walk from Mill Ruins Park should anypawdy need to zoomie off her buzz or anything.
2. Tullibee Bar and Lounge in Hewing Hotel
Dogs are notoriously difficult online reviewers, and everypuppy knows first impressions are *critical* when it comes earning their approval. The front desk area at the Tullibee Bar and Lounge sports a water bowl, dog treats, and a Welcome Board for arriving VIPs (Very Important Pets). Yep, this place loves doggos as much as it loves its North-inspired decor. Until MN state law changes, pooches can’t enter the restaurant proper, but the bar and lounge are open fur cuddling. Let doggo curl pup by the fireplace while you order a cocktail, craft beer, or in-house crafted pop for you, and some smoked chicken wings off the bar menu for your #1.
Staying overnight? Ask about the “Doggy Boarding” gift bag package, which showers your angel with toys, treats, and other goodies just like nature intended. A BarkBox Memory Foam Dog Bed will be ready for the floof’s arrival. Be sure to ask about Hewing Hotel’s list of dog-friendly outdoor dining options, local attractions, and nearby dog parks for a barkworthy stay!
3. Prelude Bar in Westin Galleria
Okay so Prelude Bar doesn’t have a VIP board, but it *does* have a swanky cheese board, and your bestie knows her fromage. There’s a cafe for breakfast munchos, and you can order lunch and dinner from the pro-dog lounge.
Does pupper need some serious R&R? Overnight doggo guests get their own beds and cookies, as it should be. If the pup is looking for a bit of an adventure, take her out to Wooden Hill Brewing Company. It’s less than a 10-minute drive away and has a cozy outdoor pawtio with water and treats available upon request–total WIN-WIN!
4. The BAR in Hotel Ivy
Nestled conveniently next to the lobby, The BAR at Hotel Ivy features a cozy yet modern fireplace that Fido will love snuggling up to. Dress code is casual, but the vibe is sophisticated. Whether you’re a cocktail Cavalier or a wine Weimaraner, the mixologists at The BAR can recommend both new faves and classic drink options.
If you’re looking for a luxurious spot to rest your head, Hotel Ivy is where it’s at. While there is a 40 lb max per pet, Hotel Ivy welcomes two dogs per room for a $50 one-time fee. After the pupper goes to bed, you can sneak out to Hotel Ivy’s subterranean speakeasy beneath Downtown Minneapolis’ streets. Stained glass meets dark leather and shook hands with an old school atmosphere to create a magical gastropub experience. Side note: You’ve gotta try their homemade tater tots!
It’s time to belly up and bark at the bar. Are there any dog-friendly Minneapolis hotel bars we missed? Woof at us in the comments.
