1. Andersonville Midsommarfest
Foster Avenue to Catalpa Avenue, Chicago
Friday, June 10, 5–10 p.m.; Saturday & Sunday June 11–12, 12–10 p.m.; ticket packages available here
Dogs are very välkommen at Andersonville’s Midsommarfest. This celebration of summer features over 50 bands and dozens of vendors (including some dog-friendly ones). Pick up a new toy and matching flower crowns before participating in Sunday’s dog parade at 12 p.m. on the Swedish Stage at Foster and Clark.
2. Buena Park PorchFest
Buena Park, Harwood Heights
Sunday, June 12 from 12– 5 p.m.; tickets required
Paws scrolling Zillow on the couch, pups, it’s time to stretch your legs and enjoy the adorable houses of Buena Park for the first-ever PorchFest. This neighborhood music festival features 21 musical acts performing across 12 front porches and gardens throughout Buena Park. Bring some water and a picnic blanket and settle in for the tunes.
3. Old Town Art Fair
Old Town Triangle Historic District, Chicago
Saturday, June 11 from 10 a.m.–7 p.m., Sunday, June 12 from 10 a.m.–6 p.m.; $12 suggested donation
Sniff out a new fave artist this weekend at the Old Town Art Fair. This outdoor event features over 200 arf-tists, so you’re sure to dig up a piece to love. The organizers warn that the event can be crowded, so while dogs are technically allowed, be cautious when exposing an uncontrollable/overly excited tail to expensive, fragile artwork. PAWS Chicago
- This Saturday, June 11, grab your groceries and a special treat from Mariano’s in Crystal Lake. From 12–3 p.m., PAWS Chicago will have adoptable dogs available, so you just might be able to meal prep and find the new ruv of your life at the same time. Hot dog! You can also support PAWS by picking up a case of Goose Island beer from Marianos—Goose Island will donate to PAWS for every case purchased.
