Every day dogs prove that they are our best friends. The wise philosopher Voltaire once stated that “it seems that nature has given the dog to man for his defense and for his pleasure. Of all the animals it is the most faithful: it is the best friend man can have.”
Attorney George Graham Vest in a case explained “the one absolutely unselfish friend that a man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him and the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous is his dog.”
In case these wise minds haven’t convinced you with their words, here are some compelling videos that prove the point. How many people do you know that would do this for you?
Bernie Parent from the Philadelphia Inquirer explains why dogs really are man’s best friend. “In the presence of a dog, somehow, nothing else matters. A dog is handing out pure love, sparing no expense, and asking absolutely nothing in return. There’s consistency, love, and the beauty of life at its finest.”
He also pinpoints the joys dogs bring to life. A lesson we humans could definitely take to heart. “For a dog, every morning is Christmas morning. Every walk is the best walk, every meal is the best meal, and every game is the best game. We can learn so much by observing the way our pets rejoice in life’s simplest moments. Take time every day to celebrate the many gifts that are hidden in the ordinary events of your own life.”
In case you’re still unsure, Nicholas Garcia, from LifeHack provides “10 Reasons Why Dogs Are Man’s Best Friend.” A few of the top ten reasons include their ability to motivate, emotionally support, clean and help us to live with great passion.
