When taking pictures of dogs, many people use goodies as a bribe, but we usually try to avoid doing so. We know this view is divisive, but we stand firmly behind it.
After all, one of the aspects of in-home pet photography that we like the most is the opportunity to capture a dog’s genuine personality when it is most relaxed and happy. These pictures show that your dog’s demeanor can shift dramatically after eating a treat, going from casual to hyperactive.
The question now is, what can you do differently to convince your dog to gaze toward the camera instead? Try placing a toy directly in front of the lens of the camera. Alternately, you may capture their attention by putting the toy in front of their nose and then gradually bringing it back up to just above the lens. This will keep their interest.
Making odd noises is another excellent tactic to use. But if you need more confidence in your abilities, you can always use an app that makes squeaky toys or animal sounds instead.
