Bucktown Pub, Chicago
Thursday, November 3, 8 p.m.
This quintessential no-frills local pub in its namesake neighborhood always welcomes good-mannered mutts to its laid-back indoor-outdoor space. Free trivia occurs every third Thursday and includes a $100 cash prize, ensuring you and pupper will be able to enjoy quite a few rounds of drinks completely on the house. Can’t make it in person? Midwest Coast’s industrial chic taproom situated smack dab in the middle of West Town and West Loop is regularly a popular weekend hangout spot for city pooches. This decades-long staple in historic Northalsted is once again going to the dogs… for its monthly Dog Day! Doggos in the know go for the free doggy swag by Tito’s Handmade Vodka and stay for the many, many, MANY pets. Pawrents will love the free cover and tasty adult beverages at this 21+ event.
Morton Arboretum, Lisle

With 16 miles of hiking trails and tons of towering trees, the Morton Arboretum is one of the region’s largest recreation areas. On select dates (including this Sunday), it welcomes floofs of all sizes during “Dog Admission Days” and “Tails on the Trails,” happening simultaneously. An on-site pet expo will feature local dog-friendly vendors and organizations, a dog adoption fair, and sessions on animal shelter volunteering. Dog and hooman admission passes must be reserved in advance and members get priority access. Dog pricing is $5 per pooch, with discounted rates available for groups of eight or more peeps.
