If a dog’s loyalty could ever be measured, this dog’s loyalty would surely go above and beyond the scale.
A family in Qidong City, Eastern China, has asked their friend to foster their Golden Retriever while their house is being renovated. The dog’s temporary home is 100 kilometers away from her family’s house, which is quite far. So while everybody loved that idea, only one family member ‘secretly’ disagrees with this idea — the dog herself.
The Golden Retriever’s name is Ping An, which means ‘Safe and Sound,’ and little did her family know that she would soon create news because of her fantastic loyalty.
After four months of being fostered in another home, the Golden Retriever’s family has received not just shocking but very devastating news: Ping An had run away. But fortunately, Ping An was eventually spotted by good-hearted workers outside an office in Qidong City — but not after she walked 62 miles for two long weeks!
The workers who found Ping An felt an urgency to bring her with them because her condition was quite critical. The Golden Retriever was found very thin, had injuries on her bleeding toes, and looked so distressed above all.
While the workers have been taking care of the dog, they did what they can track and find the dog’s owner through WeChat, a Chinese version of Messenger. At last, within the day of sharing the dog’s condition and asking for its owner, Ping An’s family found the social media post about it. Right after seeing that information, the family immediately drove to Ping An’s location with much excitement.
After more than half a month of being separated from each other, Ping An and her family reunited again. Her family was so thankful to the people who found their beloved dog. If not for these people’s efforts (which are strangers to Ping An), something more severe than her present conditions might happen to her.
And it turns out that Ping An hasn’t run away for no reason! The Golden Retriever was longing so much for her family. Instead of waiting for them to return, she decided to find them for herself. Her action had taken a toll on her, but it was all worth it since she sent the message of how much she misses her family.
In a video of their reunification, Ping An and her human dad can be seen hugging each other, and both of them obviously can’t believe that they were able to see each other again.
Today, the family has shared that Ping An is already recovering from her injuries through a vet’s supervision. And yes, she is now staying in her family’s home, and this time, she won’t be transferred anywhere anymore.
