Chicago offers so much to sniff and ‘splore, and one of the most well-known muttropolitan destinations is the Magnificent Mile. As the *premier* destination for a pupper whose performance review means he’s getting a bonus worthy of a shopping spree, what’s a dog to do? Read on for the dog-friendly spots on the Magnificent Mile.
Dog-Friendly Magnificent Mile Shops
Spot loves you, and that’s why he was actually doing you a favor when he peed on last year’s shoes. When your dog is strongly hinting that you need to refresh your look book, take a walk and check out these dog-friendly Magnificent Mile shops.
Nordstrom
Nordstrom is a classic for a reason, beyond their knack for having everything. The Michigan Avenue location welcomes friendly puppers to purvey their goods. Whether you’re shopping for new clothes, accessories or even houseware, don’t forget to buy her a matching set!
Levi’s
For when it’s a Bones Day and you have to wear real pants, pick up some jeans from America’s favorite denim brand. This Levi’s location even has a tailor shop so you can pick up cool custom fits for you and your dog. A bandana with your dog’s name on it? Heck yeah. Want a patch of your dog’s face? They can do it. A bespoke dog jacket with your face on it? We did ask, and they gave us a strong maybe.
Lush
Chi sniffs typically consist of deep dish pizza, Lake Michigan, and maybe a few whiffs of kettle corn. If Fluffy’s nose is itching for something a lil fancier, check out the dog-friendly Lush on Michigan Avenue. Get everything you need to have a self care Sunday date with pup.
The Shops at North Bridge
If your dog is on the go, hit up all of your favorites at The Shops at North Bridge. This shopping center is dog-friendly and even features pet comfort stations on the first and second floor with treats, cleaning supplies, and water. However, while the center itself may be dog-friendly, each store sets their own policy, so check before you enter!
Dog-Friendly Magnificent Mile Patios
Everypuppy knows that shopping is a real workout, so you’ll need to recharge with some food and snackies. Check out these dog-friendly patios on the Magnificent Mile.
Jake Melnick’s Corner Tap
Is it a Blackhawks Game Day? Do you just want delicious food? Then Jake Melnick’s is the place to be. Heralded by the Today Show as the top wing spot in the nation, this official Blackhawks bar has an outdoor patio that is the perfect spot to enjoy the day with your dog.
Scoops Dessert Bar
Technically, this spot isn’t on the Magnificent Mile, but the vegan ice cream is worth the quick walk over to the dog-friendly tables on State Street. Whether you’re getting Bingo his own cup or a double scoop cone to share, he’ll definitely be asking for more, pawlease!
Dogs aren’t allowed inside, so bring a friend to hang out on the patio with pup while you get your desserts.
Doc B’s Restaurant and Bar
After working up an appetite while shopping at The Shops at North Bridge, re-energize with a meal at Doc B’s Restaurant and Bar! This dog-friendly patio features a menu with quite the range. Whether you’re in the mood for a burger, barbecue, or even matzo ball soup, you’ll definitely find something you can share with pupper.
Dog-Friendly Magnificent Mile Hotels
Whether you’re visiting Chicago for the first time or feeling like you deserve a staycation, pupper is always welcome at these dog-friendly hotels on the Magnificent Mile.
Home2 Suites by Hilton Chicago
There are two of these pup-friendly hotels in Chicago–the South Loop at McCormick Place and one in River North a few blocks from the Mag Mile (in case that’s a bit too much hustle and bustle). With amenities like full kitchens and complimentary breakfast, you and pup’ll never be famished during your staycation in the city.
21c Museum Hotel
Do you have a VIP: Very Important Pupper? Well you’re in luck because 21c Museum Hotel knows how to treat her right. They have a special offer for their VIP guests that includes a waived pet fee, a gift basket, and a $20 donation to the Chicago Anti-Cruelty Society.
AC Hotel
Located on the same city block as the hottest spot in town (it’s the Trader Joe’s), the AC Hotel Chicago Downtown is the perfect spot to kick up your feet and rest after jetting around town. Their rooms are pet-friendly (max 2 pets per room with $50 pet fee).
Warwick Allerton
If you’re looking for a true Magnificent Mile experience, book your stay at the pet-friendly Warwick Allerton on Michigan Avenue. While every hotel will have top dog people watching, the Mag Mile is something else. Pets up to 25lbs are welcome, with a maximum of 2 pets per room and a $75 cleaning fee per stay.
