The wind has shifted, and it’s time to pull out your matching flannels and grab life by the bushel. How about a trip to the orchard with your best furry friend? Grab your leashes and check out our list of Washington apple picking spots that allow dogs. Whether the goal is apples for pie or good smells fur the snoot, these dog-friendly apple orchards won’t disappoint.
Note: Each farm has different rules for where pups can go, so be sure to ask. Please wear a mask and practice social distancing. We looked up COVID restrictions when writing this, but due to the ever-changing situation, we recommend calling before your visit. Stay safe!
1. Fox Hollow Farms, Issaquah
By reservation only, open now
Fox Hollow’s trees are full of fresh Honeycrisp apples for the picking. Fido will love the freedom (on leash) of the 22-acre farm. Enjoy a walk around the farm and all the fresh produce a doggy backpack can carry. There’s even a coffee shop on the farm to help the hoomans keep up with the puppers.

2. Sm’apples, Ferndale
9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, open now
How do you like them sm’apples? Sm’apples U-Pick orchard has 12 varieties of apples for you to pick from; head to their website for info on prices and harvest dates. Your best friend is more than welcome (on leash), but always scoop that poop!
3. Skipley Farms, Snohomish
9 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday; 11 a.m-6 p.m. Sunday, open now
Apples, pears, blackberries, plums, and cider–oh my! Skipley Farms has all the fruit a two-legged could need and a ton of sniffss for the four-legged frens (and maybe some apple nibbles for doggo too).
Skipley Farms also offers classes on growing your own fruit trees. Only you can make Snuggles’ orchard dreams a reality. Check out their website for more information.

4. West Valley U-Pick, Yakima
8 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Saturday; 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, open now
You and your floof can pick apples, tomatoes, eggplant, blueberries, and more starting at $.50/lb. Impress doggo with your strength on the hand-crank apple cider press. West Valley U-Pick will even ship your favorite fresh produce to your door, so your dog can relive his pawesome day on the farm.
5. Rutledge Corn Maze, Olympia
10 a.m.-6 p.m. daily, open now
The produce at Rutledge Corn Maze and Produce Stand will make you drool more than a Newfoundland. Speaking of drooling, your dog’ll love walking around the farm’s 4 acres of land and gracing guests with her presence. Come back in mid-September to test pupper’s skills in the corn maze.
Note: Doggo’s only allowed during daylight hours for pup’s safety. Spooky things are underway.
