Your dog isn’t just a pet. He’s your best friend, fur baby, pawtner in crime–and you’ll disown anyone who says otherwise. So when his birthday rolls around, pack up your best Paw Patrol decor and bone-shaped pupcakes and head to one of these epic doggo birthday venues.
1. Watering Bowl
At Watering Bowl, Denver’s first dog-friendly tavern, 7,000 square feet of fully fenced private dog park and two patios ensure you have enough space for a puppy party of any size (plus the mastiff pile of presents your pup expects and deserves). Dog attendants make sure everything runs smoothly, and staff can arrange a photographer. Humans will love the Green Menu with all vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. And with house-made beer and CBD oil that benefit rescue organizations, your pack can really turn up for a cause. P.S. When your pup meets that special someone, Watering Bowl also hosts doggy weddings.
2. Pub Dog
At Pub Dog in Colorado Springs, four-legged patrons are permitted both inside the main dining room (which you can rent out for private events) and outside in the fenced-in, off-leash green space. You can bring your own decorations and doggy cake, but they also offer a full menu. Think pretzel bites and nachos for the people, and pupsicles, hamburger patties, and bacon for the doggos. OK, fine–pretzel bites and nachos for the dogs, too.
3. Paradise 4 Paws
With a play area and bone-shaped swimming pool (above), there’s a reason for the Paradise 4 Paws name. Beyond daycare and boarding services, Paradise 4 Paws also allows you to rent out the space for private parties, making it the perfect venue for your pooch to live out her Little Mermaid fantasy. You bring Ariel and furiends, they’ll supply the tail-wagging activities and take-home goody bags…and your dog’ll provide gratitude in the form of immediately jumping on the couch while soggy, we promise.
4. EarthDog Denver
On Sundays, $100 per hour grants you and a minimum of five dogs private access to EarthDog’s large outdoor park. After running through the tunneled play mountain and swimming under the pool’s waterfall, party puppers can clean up in the self-wash tubs and post all the FOMO-worthy photos on their Instagram stories.
5. House of Dog Training
If you’re looking for an all-in-one option, book your next pawty at House of Dog Training in Colorado Springs. In addition to venue space for up to 10 pups, your reservation fee includes staff supervision, party favors, a cake, and e-vites to the guests. They’ll even take pictures and put ’em on a CD because #memories.
6. Romero’s K9 Club & Tap House
TWO outdoor, off-leash areas for qualifying pets puts Romero’s K9 Club & Tap House a kibble above other dog-friendly breweries. After joining the K9 Club, the birthday pack can romp around while pawrents enjoy the barking good selection of craft beer, cider, wine, and non-alcoholics. (It’s like watching your kids at the playground, but you get to drink. And you don’t have to pay for college.)
7. Bruz Beers
As a Brewery Pass participant, and home to hoppin’ weekly events, Bruz Beers is a hot spot for your birthday boy’s big day. Bonus: There’s an awesome dog park right across the street! After getting the zooms out, furry guests can enjoy house-made spent grain dog biscuits, say hello to brewery dogs Cooper and Bentley, and knock back a few cold ones at the fire hydrant water station.
8. Bigsby’s Folly
Your sophisticated puppo will be in her element at Bigsby’s Folly, where the staff will make sure to treat her highness like the b-day queen she is. Named after the owners’ golden retriever, this dog-themed winery in RiNo prides itself in being as friendly, approachable, and loving as pup.
9. Chatfield Dog Park
If your BFF is an outdoorswoman who ruvs to swim, roll in the mud, and freely romp around our beautiful city, or if she’s too rowdy to be contained in four walls, head to Chatfield Dog Park. She’ll have plenty of room to roam on 70 acres of trails and ponds. So she doesn’t think you’re being a cheapskate, be sure to custom order her own very special special doggie birthday cake from a local bakery.
